Journal of Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance

Past issues before 2008 · Editorial Board · Author Instructions · New JCMR site

The first and only journal devoted exclusively to cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR), the Journal of Cardiovascular Magnetic ResonanceR (JCMR) contains basic and clinical research articles, and review articles on the research, design, development, manufacture, and evaluation of magnetic resonance methods as applied to the cardiovascular system. JCMR fills a critical gap in the science and practice of cardiology and related disciplines.
All authors who are SCMR members publish for free in JCMR.
JCMR covers topics such as:

  • New applications of magnetic resonance to diagnose, risk stratify, and better characterize diseases affecting the cardiovascular system
  • New methods to enhance acquisition and data analysis
  • Results of multicenter, or larger individual center, studies that provide insight into the utility of MR
  • Basic biological perceptions derived by MR methods

Reporting new information and expertly reviewing all aspects of the field for the entire cardiac MR community, the JCMR serves as essential reading for:

  • Clinicians, including adult and pediatric cardiologists, radiologists, cardiovascular surgeons, internists, primary care physicians, and family practitioners
  • Scientists involved in vascular biology, cardiac biochemistry, spectroscopy,
    imaging physics, and biomedical engineering
  • Technologists, including all professionals involved in the hands-on performance of MR tests
  • Product Manufacturers, including contrast agents companies, imaging system
designers and manufacturers, spectroscopy system manufacturers, and
    pharmaceutical companies.

From 2008, JCMR is an Open Access journal. All articles are free to download here

Instructions to Authors

Aims and Scope:
The Journal of Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance publishes basic and clinical research articles, technical notes, review articles, and editorial commentary on the research design, development, manufacture, and evaluation of magnetic resonance methods applied to the cardiovascular system. The Journal covers topics involving the cardiovascular system such as: new applications of magnetic resonance; new diagnostic strategies; risk assessment; characterization of diseases; new methods to enhance acquisition and data analysis; results of multi-center or larger individual center studies that provide insight into the utility of MR; and basic biological insights derived by MR methods.

All manuscripts should be submitted electronically to www.jcmr-online.com/manuscript/.

The instructions to authors are here
All enquiries should be made to the managing editor Ms Fei Wang via JCMR@ic.ac.uk but NOT manuscript submission !

NOTE:
"An Article Processing Charge (APC) is required for all articles submitted to Open-Access JCMR. This replaces the cost of purchasing the published articles.

All SCMR members publish FOR FREE as a membership benefit.*

If your institution is a BMC supporter or full member, and you are an SCMR member, then we ask you to complete the institutional details so that the fees are paid directly, as this reduces costs for SCMR. If your institution is not a BMC member, and you are not an SCMR member either, then you will have to pay the APC.

* Simply state that you are an SCMR member on the APC page during manuscript submission.
