Number 07-05. Double chambered Right Ventricle
Case from: Anil K Attili and Timothy Cotts, University of Michigan Health System, Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA
History: 34-yr-old male, recurrent syncope and dyspnea
TOE: a fixed obstructive muscle bundle in the RVOT, suspicious for a double chambered RV, also a small restrictive VSD.
CMR: confirmed the presence of an anomalous muscle bundle crossing the subinfundibular portion of the RVOT and the diagnosis of a double chambered RV.
Outcome: The patient underwent uneventful surgical repair.
Perspective: CMR provides unrestricted multiplanar views of RV anatomy, function and flow, making it well suited for the investigation of sub-infundibular stenosis in adults.
CMR system: Philips achieva 1.5 T. Philips Medical Systems.
